Janine Riches gets inspiration for her abstract paintings mainly from landscape, She is very interested in history and likes to use shapes and color to form her unique impression of the landcape. She actually takes photos on location for reference and uses them as a starting point but then works from memory as well to construct compositions that have a 'feel' of the landscape.
Winning awards and completing several private commissions over the years, her passion for the outback and other inherently Australian motifs has endured and developed into her 'signature style'.
