Portrait Commissions

Artist in residence, Jennifer Webb, has been painting people since she was 11 yrs old. The first people she drew were unsuspecting classmates, after that there was a phase of painting koori people, mainly elders and children (only from photos in books).

During her time living in Brazil, she was once again drawn to portraying the indigenous and the African-Brazilians, particularly within their unique cultural.

When you commission a portrait through Port Art , you do so knowing that a story will be told, (not so much a photo-like painted reproduction of an individual- for that …..google ' my painting from a photo',  there will be many to choose from, mostly from China)

so if a sitting is not possible with the subject at the studios, the photographic reference will need to be of not just one view but several, with good quality and good lighting.
